I lost my HP4140 software during a recent move, bought a new computer and installed drivers via online, however, the scanner will only scan/print--not scan/save to computer. Any way to fix this?

Is this a C4140 or a F4140?
Also, which version of Windows are you running? i.e. Windows XP, Vista, or 7? 32 or 64 bit?
Thanks. This should fix the problem. Completely uninstall the HP Software, restart the Computer, and reinstall the latest version from here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=al-74809-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&os=4062&product=3235310&sw_lang=. This version contains the HP Scan Utility that is required to use the Scan to Computer option. Let me know how it goes and please remember to indicate that I helped you with this today. :)

Carl,Thanks for the info & link, but I am unable to use it as I am havingtrouble with the uninstall. When I go into Control Panel to Uninstallprograms, my HP 4140 Deskjet All-in-One Printer is not in the list ofproducts to uninstall. Any suggestions? Where else can I find it? Once Ican completely uninstall it then I can try the new install from the linkyou sent. Thanks for your help!Terri
Hey Terri, it should be under HP Solution Center if it's installed. If it's somehow not install, you can go ahead and download the Software using the link and install it. :)
I had trouble figuring out how to thank you and give my positive feedback. I had emailed you through my email instead and you may not have gotten it. I wanted to tell you that we have a scanner now and my husband & I are very HAPPY! Thank you! It will help my husband with his business and he is really glad it finally works. I was going to have to buy a new printer and you saved me having to do that. I really like my printer a lot, so I am thrilled to have the scanner working again at last. It's well worth the small fee.
