Hi there Sierra,
Bacterial vaginosis (BV) is a common polymicrobial infection of the vulva and vagina that is not sexually transmitted.Characteristic symptoms include vulvovaginal itching or burning, foul-smelling (musty or fishy) vaginal odor, and thin, gray-white vaginal discharge, although some cases are asymptomatic. There is usually homogeneous, thin, white or gray discharge coating vaginal walls. You should be treated with oral or intravaginal metronidazole or intravaginal clindamycin as first-line managements. I would recommend a pap smear with cultures done at your doctor's office.
I hope this helps.
