I have a 21 day prescription for sprintec birth control

Customer Question

I have a 21 day prescription for sprintec birth control which is a 28 day cycle. so essentially I am prescribed not to take the placebo pills to avoid my period. I just missed two of my pill consecutively and still had unprotected sex. should i be concerned and look in to taking plan b or because you are still technically protected during the placebo week should i be fine.
JA: Are you in any pain? How regular are your periods?
Customer: im not in pain and again im prescribed not to get my period
JA: Anything else in your medical history you think the doctor should know?
Customer: no except i have been on this prescription for a year and three months and am normally very good about taking my pill on time

Hello and welcome. I'm Dr Chip

While the chances are very high you were still protected, since there is a small chance you were impregnated I have to suggest you take the Plan B

Please let me know if you need any more information

how much lower would my chances of being protected be?
Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 5 months ago.

There's about a 10 % chance you weren't protected
