what is your medical question?

Customer: replied 7 months ago.
I need an obgyn
Expert:  Dr David replied 7 months ago.

I don't think there are any online right now.

I am here to help you.

I have specific obgyn questions..... I had a miscarriage 8-1. Something kind of like a period on 8/27 but not really, and very minor spotting a couple of days ago that is gone.
Negative pregnancy test.
Expert:  Dr David replied 7 months ago.

I am sorry about your miscarriage.

after a miscarriage, it can be very normal to have irregular periods, and very minor spotting

these are not signs you are pregnant.

your periods will get more regular in a month or two.

Customer: replied 7 months ago.
But I haven't had an actual period and it's been 8 weeks
Expert:  Dr David replied 7 months ago.

that is ok and normal as well

with a miscarriage, you can have a lot of sloughing off of uterine lining

so it is very common to miss your period a month later after a miscarriage.

don't worry, you will slowly get your monthly periods back

I bet your next period will be more normal.

Customer: replied 7 months ago.
when should I expect one?.
Expert:  Dr David replied 7 months ago.

you should have more of a period next month, towards the end of October. that is still normal and not a sign you are pregnant.

Customer: replied 7 months ago.
am I still ovulating during all of this?
Expert:  Dr David replied 7 months ago.

you could be, yes, in the middle of the months.

are you having sexual activity?

it sounds like you are worried you are pregnant.

your pregnancy tests have been negative

it can sometimes take a few months for your periods to come after a miscarriage.

Customer: replied 7 months ago.
I am not worried I am pregnant. I am looking for a more thorough answer explaining the reasons for a delayed period and status of ovulation.
If you need to forward me to an obgyn to answer that is fine.
Expert:  Dr David replied 7 months ago.

your delayed period is because of your miscarriage which can cause more severe sloughing of lining off of your uterine lining.

after a miscarrage, your female menstral cycle hormones also have to get back into monthly cycles.

with pregnancy, you can have spikes up of your estrogen and bHCG and progesterone levels in the first few days and weeks of pregnancy.

these levels have to come back down and fall back into regular monthly cycles.
