Customer Question

Hi I'm a 23 year old male and I have a kind of infection on my genital area. There is a swollen mound with pus in it. The surrounding area seems swollen and pink. Could you please help me identify what it is? Thanks

OK

This looks like a hair follicle became infected.

Start with hot compresses to try and get that to drain.

If it is not rapidly better, get a cream called mupiricin from a doctor, it is prescription.

Over the counters are not real reliable.

The pus can be staph infection, and getting it to drain is half way there.

Then the cream won't be as important.

Mupiricin is the medical name. Bactroban is the brand name.
