I am 4 weeks postpartum and last week (especially at night)

Customer Question

Hi I am 4 weeks postpartum and for the last week (especially at night) I have been getting lower back pain and abdominal cramps ( similar to what I feel before a period). The cramps aren't too bad but enough to bring me down. Also for the last 4 days I have right sided groin pain (to the right of my pubic bone), it doesn't bother me while resting, (maybe occasional shooting pains) but mostly hurts when I walk, or move my leg a certain way. Concerned what could this be?

Hello

Most likely this is tissue [internally] readjusting to get back into position.

In addition, hormonal changes....post partum.

Unless you have fever, bleeding, etc., not likely to be a problem.

However, if the cramping is constant, and not letting up at all, then you need an exam.

The worst is when I am laying down

You have to worry about infection.

And scar tissue formation.

See your doctor for exam, maybe ultrasound.

It does not sound serious, as i first said.
