My doctor schedules a transvaginal ultrasound yearly as part

Customer Question

My doctor schedules a transvaginal ultrasound yearly as part of my exam. I had some cysts in the past but am now post menopausal. I don't have any abnormal paps. I have a small fibroid that I don't feel. I was never on the pill, but I had 2 children and breast fed them each one year and was told by my previous ob/gyn that I am at average risk for Ovarian cancer. I have been told this is not a good way to screen for Ovarian Cancer. This test scares me. Should I just find another ob/gyn?
I got my first period at age 15.
My last at 52.

You should find another ob/gyn. As your previous gyn mentioned, there are not no screening tests for ovarian cancer.
