Customer Question

I recently started having sex with a new partner after a few months of not being active. After intercourse, I would notice a foul odor. I purchased VH Essentials Odor Treatment (a six day treatment of suppositories) and saw my condition improved. I also started taking an oral female probiotic daily. However, by the fifth treatment, I noticed a slightly pink discharge that had small clumps.
I do not have any itching or burning and was under the assumption I was experiencing Bacterial Vaginitis.is this normal?

Hello, I'm Dr Manos, M.D., board certified ObGyn. You have a foul vaginal odor and you had intervourse with someone new. You don't have itching or burning which usually happens with vaginally infection like yeast vaginitis and trichimonas vaginitis. An odor is frequently seen in patients with bacterial vaginosis. Certain bacteria are seen with a microscopic exam of vaginal secretions and no inflammation. There are specific treatments. You should see either a primary care doctor or gynecologist to examine you and the secretions to give you a dependable diagnosis.
