Hello,

what is the problem?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Hi, are you still there?
Expert:  Dr Norbert Scheufele replied 1 year ago.

Yes, how can I help you?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
i have had an early pregnancy scan, measuring gestation sac 15mm CRL 2.6mm but i have a positive pregancy test on the 1st november, I also no i ovulated around 21st oct using clear blue ovulation test kit. I think my bacy is dead but the hospital asked me to go back for a another scan in 10 days. I think this is cruel, they think the cannot do anything before conducted the next scan to see if there is growth. Surely this is not possible if its this small?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
apparently the gestation sack is a nice shape and the york sac is present
Expert:  Dr Norbert Scheufele replied 1 year ago.

Hello,

this result of the measuring corresponds to a range between 5+1 and 7+0, so an intact pregnancy is possible indeed. That there is no pain or bleeding is a good sign too. Next checkup will give you certainty, I hope that everything will turn out fine.

Good luck and best regards,

Dr. N. Scheufele

No wonder i am not a doctor, I dont understand the chart, please explain what each row means?
Expert:  Dr Norbert Scheufele replied 1 year ago.

Sorry, this was a technical problem.

example embryo size:

6+0 (calculated pregnancy time) 2 (mean value in mm) 5+1 up to 7+0 (possible range of pregnancy age).

same with gestation sack.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Ok but i cannot see the CRL on here? so i can see how that compares. I thought a heart bit was supposed to heard at 6 weeks?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
sorry meant heart beat
Expert:  Dr Norbert Scheufele replied 1 year ago.

mm-size means CRL in this case. Depending on the position of the baby, it can last up to 7th week to recognize heart beat. You have really a realistic chance for an intact pregnancy, please think positive ;-).

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I know but that is easier said than done. when everything you read suggests otherwise.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
assuming the pregenacy stopped growing 3 weeks ago. what normally happens to the sac, does it shrink? or carry on growing for longer?
Expert:  Dr Norbert Scheufele replied 1 year ago.

In case that prgnancy stopped such a long time ago, there would have been a decrease of the sac and certainly bleeding too.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
well that sounds a bit encouraging.
Expert:  Dr Norbert Scheufele replied 1 year ago.

Yes, I hope so ;-). Please don´t believe in all the horror stories in internet.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I agree the internet is harmful in the wrong hands. I just wanted to accept the loss and move on but maybe the best thing is to be hopefull.
Expert:  Dr Norbert Scheufele replied 1 year ago.

Yes, for sure, you should preserve your hope at least until the next checkup.

My fingers are crossed for you.
