I am on day 10 recovering from a robotic assisted

Customer Question

Hi! I am on day 10 recovering from a robotic assisted hysterectomy. The hysterectomy was for fibroids. However, when the doctor got in there so much scar tissue and adhesions had bonded all of my organs together. My question - I still have a significant amount of pain on day #10. Is this normal?

It's a little hard to say, because every person is different as far as how much pain there is after surgery.

The average woman doesn't have very much pain by 10 days after a robotic hysterectomy, even when there is much scarring and adhesions. However, some women do seem to have much more pain than average, even when healing seems to be proceeding normally.

Hopefully your pain is getting a little better each day. If not, or if your pain is worse than 4-5 days ago, that doesn't sound normal.

If you're not sure, it's better to see your doctor for evaluation. Excess pain could mean there is some problem, either with infection, internal bleeding, or perhaps scar tissue. Best wishes.
