A pregnancy test will usually be positive by the time there are symptoms of pregnancy, so I don't think that your discharge and feeling sick are due to pregnancy.
With 28 day cycles, you would generally ovulate around day 14 (13 days after the first day of your period), so you'd be unlikely to get pregnant on day 9.
It's not unusual for it to take a few months or more to get pregnant. For best success I would recommend having sex around days 12-14.
If you miss a period, then test, since that's the best time to get a positive test. Good luck!
