I have a red rash on my vulva and my primary doctor prescribed clotrimazole and betamethsone cream . What does this cream treat? She also asked that I use Nystatin powder daily. Why?

Hi, It's Dr. C. Board certified Ob-gyne with 30 years of experience. I can help you today. That is a good cream, one I often prescribe. It combines an anti-fungal for yeast along with a steroid for anti-inflammation. Most women get good relief of rash especially one that itches at all.
