light, very light period, with pain in legs and abdominal area, could I be pregnant? weird feelings in lower pelvic region.. help plz

Dr. Pfeiffer :

hello

Dr. Pfeiffer :

when was your last period?

Dr. Pfeiffer :

when were you due for your next normal period?

Customer:

about 4 or almost 5 weeks ago...now should be my normal period but this doesn't seem like a period..

Dr. Pfeiffer :

ok...so it's a little late or little early?

Dr. Pfeiffer :

how many days between periods normally

Customer:

little late..29 days

Dr. Pfeiffer :

ok.

Dr. Pfeiffer :

so implantation bleeding is usually light bleeding a little bit early..

Dr. Pfeiffer :

so probably not that.

Dr. Pfeiffer :

it may be an early pregnancy as we do see a bit of spotting at times.

Dr. Pfeiffer :

however, this may also be from an ovarian cyst..

Dr. Pfeiffer :

cysts can cause spotting and pain

Customer:

well I have miscarried before...early on..

Dr. Pfeiffer :

Ok

Dr. Pfeiffer :

I think what I would do is a home pregnancy test, first thing in the morning..

Dr. Pfeiffer :

with the first void of the day.

Customer:

ok..

Dr. Pfeiffer :

That's when the hormone (if it's present) is in the highest concentration.

Dr. Pfeiffer :

if that's negative it might be an ovarian cyst.

Dr. Pfeiffer :

pain from a cysts usually only lasts a few days..so if it lasts longer than that, you'de want to touch basis with your gynecologist.

Customer:

I have some pain around my belly button too i

Customer:

if that has anything to do with it..

Dr. Pfeiffer :

ok. any nausea, vomiting, fever, anorexia?

Customer:

slightly warmer than usual...

Dr. Pfeiffer :

ok..

Customer:

and a little upset stomach

Dr. Pfeiffer :

so those are signs of appendicitis

Dr. Pfeiffer :

pain usually starts around the belly button and then goes to the right pelvis

Dr. Pfeiffer :

usually with nausea, vomiting, fever, pain, and not wanting to eat...

Dr. Pfeiffer :

so those are things you need to watch for

Customer:

oh my

Customer:

so u recommend I see a dr?

Dr. Pfeiffer :

I think you can take the pregnancy test in the AM as we discussed aboe.

Dr. Pfeiffer :

above.

Dr. Pfeiffer :

if things get better...probably a cyst.

Customer:

ok..

Dr. Pfeiffer :

if things are getting worse...see your doctor or go to the ER.

Customer:

ok..just had a feeling of like a bubble pop inside my lower pevic area

Dr. Pfeiffer :

could be a cyst

Customer:

so take a test in the morning..and if its neg wait a few days if the pain continues right then see a dr if it does.

Dr. Pfeiffer :

yep...you got it

Dr. Pfeiffer :

sounds like a good plan

Customer:

any symptoms I should be aware of that could cause serious damage, I live 2 hr away from the closes ER

Dr. Pfeiffer :

those that I mentioned above...those are signs of something serious that you should make thatXXXXX/p>

Dr. Pfeiffer :

fever, nausea, vomiting, increased pain, anorexia

Customer:

ok thanks bunches for all your help...

Dr. Pfeiffer :

sure.

Dr. Pfeiffer :

you're welcome

Dr. Pfeiffer :

have a good night and hope you feel well soon
