What does a cyst mean on the endometrial lining mean on transvaginal ultrasound?
Hello,

Welcome and thank you for your question.

Cysts rarely occur on the endometrial lining. But sometimes secretions from the glnads in the endometrium can get traped and form a small cyst. This will show up in a transvaginal ultrasound. The cyst will usually go away when the endometrium gets shed during your next periods.

This is normal and not of concern.

I hope this helps.

So this is not a cyst on the ovaries? I had multiple follicles on the ovaries but no cyst is what the report said.

Did you get my question earlier?
A cyst in the endometrium does not indicate a cyst in the ovaries - the two are quite different. If you had a cyst in the ovaries, the report would have mentioned it as such but the report clearly mentions that you have multiple follicles but no cyst in the ovaries.

I hope this helps.
