the Mirena IUD contains a very small amount of hormone.
abnormal bleeding is very common for the first few months.
I typically tell my patients to give it a solid 6 months as the bleeding usually gets better with time....
and some women even stop having periods.
So...as long as you can still feel the strings, that suggests it is in the proper place...
and that the bleeding is normal..
it should get better with time.
