i didnt get my period for 37 days and went to the doctor to do pregnancy test, she done ultrasound and couldnt see any thing except that the boundry of the utres was thick and she done blood test however it shown negative. i want to know if i have to take tablate to force the period or i have to wait as i am having Nausea every day some time in the morning and some time at night and i am having like a watery liquid coming from down on daily basis without any smell or color. also after every meal i have motion. can you please advise what to do?

Dr. Pfeiffer :

hello

Dr. Pfeiffer :

I'm reviewing your question

Dr. Pfeiffer :

tell me when the first day of your last period was

Customer:

29/09/2012

Dr. Pfeiffer :

ok.

Dr. Pfeiffer :

so you are roughly 7-10 days late for your period?

Customer:

yes

Dr. Pfeiffer :

ok

Dr. Pfeiffer :

when was the blood pregnancy test done?

Customer:

on 04/11/2012

Dr. Pfeiffer :

ok

Dr. Pfeiffer :

that test would be accurate meaning you are not pregnant.

Dr. Pfeiffer :

it's common for women to be late or even miss a period.

Customer:

ok then i want to ask about the liquid which is like water coming without smell and its transparent

Dr. Pfeiffer :

normally this is due to a hormonal imbalance.

Customer:

by the way i have just stopped having my birth control tablets since 3 months

Dr. Pfeiffer :

and I suspect that may be the reason for all of this.

Customer:

ok and what about the Nausea that i am having every day sometime in the morning and some time at night

Dr. Pfeiffer :

starting and stopping a pill may cause a hormonal imbalance resulting in these symptoms.

Dr. Pfeiffer :

as for the nausea...a hormonal imbalance is usually caused by an ovarian cyst.

Dr. Pfeiffer :

that's from not ovulating, which is common just commoning off a pill

Customer:

got it.

Customer:

so now i should start having the pills to enforce the period isnt it

Dr. Pfeiffer :

a cyst causes elevated levels of estrogen and hence the nausea

Dr. Pfeiffer :

well, that depends.

Dr. Pfeiffer :

it would be ok to wait and see, many times this resolves simply with time.

Customer:

so you recommend to wait, till when?

Dr. Pfeiffer :

if, however, you don't want to wait you can certainly take provera to start your period...that should 'reset' you cycle.

Dr. Pfeiffer :

Personally I would take the pills for 10 days to reset your cycle

Customer:

the doctor asked me to use promolot nor

Customer:

and how many times per day

Customer:

she asked me to take promolot nor 3 times a day for 7 days

Dr. Pfeiffer :

yes...that's fine

Dr. Pfeiffer :

it's a progesterone where you are

Dr. Pfeiffer :

provera is the most common progesterone in the United States.

Customer:

ok and what is your advise as i have three boys and would like to get pregnant and have baby girl.

Customer:

in UAE

Dr. Pfeiffer :

so..I would follow those instructions and you should start bleeding 1-7 days after to Stop taking the pill...

Dr. Pfeiffer :

not while you are on it.

Dr. Pfeiffer :

yes..in that case I would certainly take the pill to reset your cycle.

Dr. Pfeiffer :

and have intercourse days 13,14,15,16,17

Dr. Pfeiffer :

the first day you bleed after you stop taking the pills will be day 1...

Dr. Pfeiffer :

count forward from there until you get days 13,14,15,16,17 and those are the days to have sex

Dr. Pfeiffer :

and have the best chances of conceiving.

Customer:

the sex has to be on daily basis or every alternate day

Dr. Pfeiffer :

I recommend daily for those 5 days.

Customer:

and what is your advise to increase the chanses for having baby girl

Dr. Pfeiffer :

that is based upon a study that was performed to identify the best days to conceive in people who have limited ability to do so.

Dr. Pfeiffer :

nothing you can do to increase the chances of a girl.

Dr. Pfeiffer :

there are many things that have been tried/studied, but none have proven to increase the odds of 50/50

Customer:

ok

Dr. Pfeiffer :

Customer:

so no more advises that you can provide me to inrease the chanses of pregnancy

Dr. Pfeiffer :

for now, you have to let the birth control get out of your system so your cycles return to normal.

Dr. Pfeiffer :

reset your cycle with the progesterone.

Dr. Pfeiffer :

sex on those days I mentioned.

Customer:

and how long does that take

Dr. Pfeiffer :

give it 3 months

Dr. Pfeiffer :

I typically do a progesterone level on day 21 to make sure you are ovulating.

Customer:

i stopped my pills on 01/07/2012

Dr. Pfeiffer :

ok...should be good in that case.

Dr. Pfeiffer :

if you are ovulating and it is proven by the 21 day progesterone continue

Customer:

how can i take the progesterone level

Dr. Pfeiffer :

it's a blood test to have your doctor do

Customer:

on my 21 day from the 1st day of period

Dr. Pfeiffer :

yes.

Customer:

ok i will do that

Dr. Pfeiffer :

so continue counting from the sex days until you get to day 21 and that's when you need to have the progesterone level.

Customer:

any more advises

Dr. Pfeiffer :

if it shows you are not ovulating you can discuss the use of clomiphene citrate

Dr. Pfeiffer :

that would be the next step.

Customer:

is it like Clomid

Dr. Pfeiffer :

ok...it is clomid, but I wasn't sure what it was called in the UAE

Customer:

yes its

Dr. Pfeiffer :

so that would be to help you ovulate

Customer:

any thing else that would increase the ovulation

Dr. Pfeiffer :

that should do it.

Dr. Pfeiffer :

if it doesn't work alone, the use of metformin along with it may help

Customer:

thanks alot for your advises.

Dr. Pfeiffer :

sure..

Dr. Pfeiffer :

you're welcome.

Dr. Pfeiffer :

good luck and I wish you the best.
