Using several of the same medications, Lyrica and Tramadol, I suspect that I am pregnant, but i get negative results. I also have Fibromyalgia, don't know if that affects anything, but i have a near 20 yr old son, and know what pregnancy feels like, at least with him... but the absolute sinker to this question is that I am nearly 40 and had a tubal ligation some 6-7 years ago... but i still FEEL pregnant. my last period was in May, around the tenth. Could be premenepause? No, no dischare from my breasts,and i did the preg. test today. Not sure about the thyroid condition. My mother has it , and i keep asking for testing, and they tell me it's within normal range, BUT, in the last 6 mo.s or so, i went from a size 6 to a 14-16.............can the thyroid mess with the results of a preg. test?

Well an EPT test is very accurate
and very Unlikely you are pregnant given you have not had a period since April and the test is negative.
So what this could be besides possible perimenopause - but unlikely - it could be due to a thyroid condition - which is easily tested with a TSH thyroid blood test.
This could be due to an elevated prolactin level which is made by the pituitary gland.
And, other reasons could be due to PCOS - polycystic ovarian syndrome.
any idea what could be going on? since i FEEL pregnant,and just like my other 2 pregnancies, i knew immediately when i was preg, and when the 1st baby died, at 8weeks, b4 they tested me and told me what i already knew. i feel like i am pregnant and that this is a girl.. im pretty freaked out about it.
Also given your size increase leads me to believe this could be due to PCOS - because a size increase could increase the Estrogen levels in your body and hence this would cause you not to have a period, but also you would feel pregnant too.
What is going on that with PCOS - your estrogen level increases in the form of Estrone, and hence this increases your testosterone level and also your insulin levels - and this then causes your ovaries to not to ovulated - and Hence when you have these cysts, weight increase and no ovulation you get all these symptoms.
To prove this: a pelvic ultrasound, with these blood tests : testosterone, Insulin, and DHEA-S would help.
You should also do a TSH thyroid, prolactin and A FSH - follicle stimulating hormone blood test
The FSH test if elevated would then show you to be in menopause - if not elevated, then not menopause.
