I have a cervical polyp, and I just had a sonohysterogram( which is how it was found). Since the procedure I have had bleeding. Not extremely heavy but a steady ongoing flow of blood. I do not have a gynecologist appt for a month. Should i be concerned about the bleeding. I am post menopausal. How long is too long?? thanks

Hello, and I am pleased to help, use of my answers are for educational purposes only.
Hello
How heavy is the bleeding?
When was the SIS - sonohysterogram?
Are you soaking through any pads - and if so, how often?
hi, it is like the first day of a period, so fairly heavy but not excessive. I had the sonohysterogram on Friday July 6th.
Okay
not soaking through any pads. it's more like a regular menstrual flow
So as long as you are NOT soaking through a pad every 1 to 2 hours, you should be fine
It is more of a nuisance now -
but you should be fine - and you should be able to get the polyp removed in a procedure called a D&C (dilation and curretage)
is it possible that it might continue for many days. How many days is too many??
yes it can continue
but as long as you are not bleeding heavily you should be fine
it is must a matter of a nuisance and hopefully when you get the D&C to remove the polyp this will all be over with
ok, thanks for your help with that. i was just worried that i should see someone sooner, but it's really hard to get an appointment any earlier than what i have apparently.
You are welcome =
And you really do not need to worry
one month to wait is fairy normal and nothing seriously wrong will happen
I Hope this helps
