Hi I found a small hard lump this morning about the size of a grain of rice only round, I can feel it if I press it's on the right side just below my cervix on the anal wall I can feel it against my muscle wall. It doesn't hurt but if I stratch it it give a strange numb like sensation. I had a smear last July and that was completely normal, I've got ulcerative colitis and I've notice some small blood spots in my knickers over the last month but as my bum bleeds I just thought it was from there. I don't bleed after intercourse and haven't had any blood when I wipe myself. I'm just wondering if anyone could help.

Hello, and I am pleased to help, use of my answers are for educational purposes only.Given the location and the size this could be consistent with a rectocele - especially if you have had a vaginal delivery in the past which could have caused a thinning of the tissue between the rectum and your vagina. This could also be an inclusion cyst. And, if part of the cervix itself, this could be a nabothian cyst.Since you have had normal PAP smears, unlikely there is anything concerning. Also, since you have UC - ulcerative colitis - could have effected a possible rectocele. Now, I would recommend that you do make an appointment to see your ob/gyn to get this evaluated more fulled and to see if this can be treated or possibly repaired IF necessary - The repair for a rectocele is called a Posterior Colporrhaphy. If you have more questions, please askThank you
I also have a spongy area just inside my vagina so I was thinking it could be a rectocele. But this tiny lump is hard and further up about 2 inches up and although it's below my cervix it's not on or really near it, I have had one child 18 years ago, could this hard lump still be part of a prolapse.
Well the lump could be a hardened area such as a calcium deposit - This likelihood of this area being a cancer if unlikely.POP - Pelvic Organ Prolapse essentially encompasses many of all these problems and a good exam called the POP-Q exam would reveal any possible problem that you might have.A POP-Q exam is a very through pelvic exam that identifies any possible problem areas and your ob/gyn should be able to identify this small area and possibly diagnose this if possible Also, if this is a growth, then a possible biopsy should be done to 'properly' diagnose and treat this area.I hope this helpsIf you have more questions, please askThank you
I also had thrush about a month ago could this be anything to do with it.God I must sound like a hypochondriac, but I've never had anything wrong before but at this moment I feel like I'm getting everything, I also take mezavant xl every day so could that cause problems I've read all the side effects so was just wondering
Very unlikely the medications and yeast infection has anything to do with this. This are lumps and cysts that we commonly see in the vagina - and more than likely this is not worrisome. Also, since I can not do an exam, you really need to get a pelvic exam done yourself by an ob/gyn as this would really alleviate any concerns that you might have. So, just make an appointment, and there does not appear to be any rush here - but just get this taken care of within the next 2 to 4 weeks.I know it is hard, but try to relax about this and your doctor will more than likely have good news after the exam.I hope this helpsPlease provide Excellent feedbackThank you
