im 53 yrs old. i've been having abnormal vaginal bleeding(menopause) and lately i've had a constant, dull pain (pressure) on my LEFT side. it gets worse with physical activity. gets better rest. i feel its like ovarian pain. I dont know if that exists. i dont have medical insurance but im worried this may be serious. sh should i seek medical attention for this? 9I'VE HAD 6 CHILDREN. always had irregular periods. )
Optional Information: Gender: female Age: 53 Already Tried: i dont have medical insurance so i've just been drinking tea and trying to avoid activity to aggrevaite it (like lifting heavy items, standing long periods)

Start with an obgyn exam, yes this needs attention
An office visit will not cost an arm and leg and even an ultrasound of the ovary should not be a terrible cost. Just the exam and this will rule out a lot of problems.
I know the insurance is a problem. Bleeding of an on during menopause is not necessarily serious, however the doctor can assess this in terms of timing.
Good luck

could it be my left ovary? or related to it?
Dear egomez82; Perhaps I can help you with this problem. The left sided pain could be form the ovary, but it is not likely that ,if it was, the pain would subside with rest. The word "menopause" means the last period of a woman`s life, that is no bleeding in 12 months. You are in the "change of life" where irregular periods are common and irregular spotting is also. Without the benefit of an examination, the best is a guess. Do not go to an ER......it will cost too much. Find a Planned Parenthood or go to a city, county or state hospital or a Univrsity Hospital clinic where you can be examined and have sonogram. There are just too many possibilities for lower left abdominal/pelvic pain. Good luck
