Both my taillights and my brakelights are on all the time.

Customer Question

both my taillights and my brakelights are on all the time. even when the egnition is turned off and the key is removed. I have to take the loose the positive battery cable from the battery to get them to go off.
JA: Have you checked the bulbs? Have you checked the connection?
Customer: yes bulbs and fuses are all good so is the switch at the break peddle. I just replaced it but that did not fix my problem.
JA: What is the model/year of your Nissan?

Customer: purchased in 2001 new but door plate says 08/00
JA: Are you fixing your vehicle yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: yes
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: checked the bulbs, checked all the fuses I could find (the ones in the box by the battery in the engine bay and the ones under the dash on the drivers side by the steering wheel. changed out the brake peddle brake switch.
