Nissan Repair Questions? Ask a Mechanic for Answers ASAP
Hello my name is ***** ***** thank you for your question.
Are you trying to program remote / Keys?
The security light will not stop flashing? That is the issue?
This sounds like it could simply be a weak battery.
Does the head lights turn on?
I am not there, so I have to ask questions.
So if you press the start button 2 times with out stepping on the brake, does all the dash warning lights come on?
Ok.. Does the brake lights work?
It's not a remote battery if you can lock and unlock the car with the remote.
I mean do you see the brake lights behind the car? Place something behind the car to see if you can capture a reflection. The brake pedal signal is important signal for push button start..
Let me know.
Are you getting any error message in the information center in the dash? Like No key detected? or something or I-key Error?
Ahh.. ok.. There is a few service bulletins which may apply to your issue. Do you know if your Basic warranty is still good? I can see it's close since your car is a 13.
One bulletin has you check for codes, if you have a particular code stored, there is a simple adjustment at the transmission for the shifter cable.
Try this. double tap the start button and get the ignition to come on. Then step on the brake pedal and move the shifter into neutral. Then press the start button and see if the car starts.. Keep the foot on the brake so the car does not roll.
Let me know..
I am asking you to try something.. it could help verify my thoughts..
See if by putting the car into neutral, see if it starts. The bulletin I am thinking off is a adjustment which affects the shifter position. Like it may not see it's in park properly at the transmission.
This is not a immobilizer issue. The ignition would not come on if it was.
Just so you know, since you are still under warranty, Road side assistance, meaning a tow service would be no charge. But that is worst case scenario
If you place the remote over the start button and try to start the car try that.
This issue, has this happened before? If so, does it seem to be in the same spot?
Smart.. I always suggest extended warranties since parts are so expensive these days.
Lets try something silly, cause it always seems the silly things work.
Try disconnecting the negative battery cable for 15 mins. Then connect it and then see if the car starts.
That is known as a hard reset.
Ok.. I understand. Please feel free to return back and let me know what the dealer found, or if you have any more questions on this?
