when I turn the key and no starter or on dash lights come on...and I already change the starter.
JA: Have you checked the fuses? The dashboard bulbs?
Customer: yes
JA: What is the model/year of your Nissan?
Customer: 04 xterra 4 cyl
JA: Are you fixing your Xterra yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: yes .I change out the starter and about to change the ignition switch
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: if that dont work , what else can I check

hey how are you

1- have all the fuse underhood been checked

2- Can you check the battery cables from battery to starter for being loose or corroded

3- the ignition switch could be causing this for sure ,but u said u replacing it so hopefully that will fix

4- Please check all ground point from engine to from for being loose

5- check the underhood fuse box wires going in to it for melting or burned spots

6-Battery Has 12 volts correct ?have you tried for 12 volts on battery with key in start position , do you still have 12 volts
