Do you have a test light?

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
we do
Expert:  KALAMYKID replied 5 months ago.

With the ignition switch in the off position see what wire has 12 volts on it please.

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
Okay then what's next?
Expert:  KALAMYKID replied 5 months ago.

Please check it so I will know what you need to do next.

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
I'm sorry but can we just get the steps in what you'd do? I'm doing the research and relaying the messages
Expert:  KALAMYKID replied 5 months ago.

I need to know the test results to know what to have you do next. Each test result may have a differant next step.

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
How long are you going to be available? Or is it possible for you to give me a set of options on how to do it? I'm not able to get test results at the moment
Expert:  KALAMYKID replied 5 months ago.

I will be online for a while. Just let em know when you are ready to go forward and I will be here for you.

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
Do you know of a diagram we can follow?
Expert:  KALAMYKID replied 5 months ago.

The only diagram I have has the wrong color for the wires. So I will hve to talk you through fixing this one wire at a time.

Expert:  KALAMYKID replied 5 months ago.

If you test the wrong thing the wrong way, you can burn out the ecu.

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
Or if the wire with the stripe is the 12 volt what would be the next step? If it were the light brown then what, etc
Customer: replied 5 months ago.
We understand that but would you be able to send us a copy of that diagram?
Expert:  KALAMYKID replied 5 months ago.

I can not give you a bunch of what ifs. If I do and you test the wrong thing you can damage the computer and that will cost you a lot of money to replace.

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
Okay, I understand here's the next question I'm relaying, the part we purchased that connects to the alternator, the three wires are red, green and black, which is positive, negative and neutral?
Expert:  KALAMYKID replied 5 months ago.

It does not work that way. They all can have positive power on them depending on the position of the ignition switch.

Expert:  KALAMYKID replied 5 months ago.

That is why I have to walk you though this step by step, and each step depends on the test results of the last step.

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
How do you test the three wires coming out of the alternator for positive voltage, ground and neutral?
Expert:  KALAMYKID replied 5 months ago.

They are not grounds and neutrals. They are all hot at a differant time, depending on the position of the ignition switch.

Expert:  KALAMYKID replied 5 months ago.

I am trying to help you with out you destroying the computer for the car.
