Hello my name is***** am an ASE Master Technician and I am glad to help you out with your question.

Expert:  Dan replied 2 months ago.

I have seen this before and its usually the button that needs to be replaced. Go to the dealer and order the part it is not difficult to install. You will need to remove the trim panel on the gate and test the switch. It could also be a bad lock solenoid, the gate could be stuck in the locked position.

Let me know if you need a wiring diagram and are able to do some electrical testing.
