Customer Question

Timing belt broke on 2004 Nissan exterra- do I need a new engine?

Hello, it is an interferance engine so more than likely the valves are bent. It doesn't necessarily mean a new engine is needed but you are at least looking at 13-14 hours labor plus the cost of repairing the cylinder heads. So, a new or used low mileage engine may be a cheaper option.
