The security indicator light is on and my Altima will not

Customer Question

The security indicator light is on and my Altima will not start
JA: Do you have the trouble code? Do you have a code reader or scan tool?
Customer: No.
JA: Not a problem. You can work with the Nissan Mechanic to figure that out. What year is your Altima?
Customer: 2009
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Putting the key into the ignition didn't work. Both key fobs worked last night and neither worked this morning. But the doors will only open with the physical key also.
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: No
JA: OK. Got it. I'm sending you to a secure page on JustAnswer so you can place the $5 fully-refundable deposit now. While you're filling out that form, I'll tell the Nissan Mechanic about your situation and then connect you two.
