I have a 1999 maxima manual transmission.
It will start but not move. It will idle and does not die even when being switch into gears.

Yes you have to step on clutch to switch gears
No noise that I can hear

Now the clutch as not been replaced

You need to look at both front axle shafts ,right where they come out of the transmission ...see if the flange turns when the vehicle is in gear with foot off the clutch pedal.(possible broken or loose axle shaft)If nothing is turning ,will need to pull the transmission out for further diagnostic.
