Well, I think it went into lock down
Expert:  Jay replied 7 months ago.

Is the power completely out on the car? Is that what you mean by lock down?

Customer: replied 7 months ago.
My children were sitting in the car. Pressing buttons. My husband thought the car battery went dead but we cannot even put in into neutral. Nothing

The seat it self with just "click click click"
Expert:  Jay replied 7 months ago.

This does sound like it could simply be that the battery is weak or is dead. The Auto Drive position is trying to operation and because of low voltage, that is why the seat is clicking.

Did you attempt to jump start the car?

Does the head lights work?

Then you either have a blown fusible link, or a dead battery. What I would do is try a different set of jumper cables and make sure you have a good connection on the battery.

When ever you are connecting a set of jumper cables on the battery you always want to connect Positive First, then Negative. Other wise you can cause a voltage surge. When you remove the cables, you want to remove Negative First, then Positive.

Please try jumping the car again. I will keep this question open while you try. When you have the cables hooked up the car, leave the car that is jumping you on the car for 10 mins before you try to start it. Also take note if the dome light doesn't work when you open the door before you jump it and if it comes on when the cables are connected. That would also indicate your battery is weak. Your battery also has a 4 year or 60k mile warranty from the dealer. So if it needs to be checked and replaced, as long as you have less than 60k miles, it would be replaced at no charge.

Let me know how you make out.
