Hello my name is ***** ***** thank you for your question.

What is it you replaced exactly?

When you turn the key to the ON position, is the security light on solid?

I replaced nothing. We disconnect the ecm but never removed
Expert:  Jay replied 8 months ago.

If the security light is ON Solid when the key is in the ON position, that is a key programming issue. You would need to have the car towed to the dealer to have the keys programmed, or a Mobile locksmith come to you to program the keys to allow the car to start.

Do you have any more questions on this?

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
The key is the correct key. It started the car until we diconnected the ecm.The car doesn't want to idle for 3 to 4 minutes after it is started.Idle air control circuit in ecm is what auto zone engine test showed.
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
We were going to install a good ecm
Expert:  Jay replied 8 months ago.

If the security light is ON solid, that is a key programming issue. It's not that it's the wrong key, it's that the key programming has been cleared. If you are going to replace the Ecm, you will need to program the keys also after you replace it.

We picked up one out of a 2001 nissan maxima same motor and transmission
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
That is why we stopped and just plugged it back in
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
The key program automatically clears
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
It doesn't have a default
Expert:  Jay replied 8 months ago.

It can clear if unplugged.

you can try the lock mode steps to see if you can get the car out of lock mode.. Hang on, let me get them for you

Try that. If that doesn't work, then you will have no choice than to program the keys.

Let me know how you make out..
