P01819 is too many digits, that is an invalid code, recheck it and correct the code.

That decodes as an Xterra with a 4.0. I thought you said this was a Titan?

First erase self-diagnostic results. SHIFT ACT CIR [P1819] may be displayed after installing transfer control unit or transfer assembly.

This code refers to a malfunction detected in transfer shut off relay 1 and transfer shut off relay 2 or a malfunction in the transfer control device drive circuit.

Here are the tests that I have found, POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT FOR TRANSFER CONTROL UNIT check and TRANSFER CONTROL DEVICE.

Step 5 here says, is that why you thought it needed a new module?

PERFORM SELF-DIAGNOSIS (WITH CONSULT-II)

With CONSULT-II

  1. Turn ignition switch "ON". (Do not start engine.)
  2. Select "SELF-DIAG RESULTS" mode for "ALL MODE AWD/4WD" with CONSULT-II.
  3. Touch "ERASE".
  4. Turn ignition switch "OFF" and wait at least 10 seconds.
  5. Perform the self-diagnosis again.

Is the "SHIFT ACT CIR [P1819]" displayed?

  • YES: Replace transfer control unit. Refer to , "REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ".
  • NO: Inspection End.

Ok, a simple no would suffice. That is all the tests I have.
