my 2002 xterra with 118,000 miles recently started to overheat while driving. The guage went to hot ac blew hot air and service engine light went on. Took it in for service technician couldn't find anything wrong reset service engine code. Driving again recently and same thing happens. What is wong????

there are a few things that can cause the engine to over

some been the thermostat , radiator , water pump . low coolant level

since the problem is not there all the time then i would replace the thermostat because this is most likely getting stuck causing the car to overheat
