ok you will need to cheek for power at the starter

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I have 12v to starter directly from battery. The 12v that comes from ignition switch is not there when the key is turned.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
If I jumper the 12v to starter ignition line the starter will try to ingage.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
No
Where is the starter relay located?
This car is an automatic and has a security system.
Expert:  Clifton B. replied 1 year ago.

that would be the inhabitor relay under the hood fuse box

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
that relay has 12v going to it but no voltage coming out. I can apply 12v to the coil and relay contacts will close. can you show me how the relay is wired into the startup circuit?

I will post the wiring diagram of the starting system for you. it should help with diagnosing the problem
Expert:  Rick replied 1 year ago.

Here is the diagrams , you might try putting the shifter in the neutral position and see if the starter engages if it does that would be an indication that the inhibitor switch is bad or miss adjusted

Expert:  Rick replied 1 year ago.

something happened and the file didn't upload I'll try again

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Thank you I will look at the inhibitor switch tonight. I think the inhibitor relay coil is not being grounded. Putting the gear shift into neutral the car still does not start.
