I have a 2002 nissan sentra se r spec v with a 2.5L engine while driving one day my engine shut off and I got a SES light and it hasn't started again what could be the problem

The most common reason for such a failure would be crank or cam sensors.
However, first, when you try to start, does the engine crank (starter opperate), or you get nothing at all?
With ignition on, is the security indicator still on or flashing? (it should turn off)
Did you check for any blown fuses?
can you retrieve the fault codes from the engine control module (using a scan tool or obd reader)?
