Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Bare with my I am a female.
Expert:  Mike S. replied 1 year ago.
ok
Expert:  Mike S. replied 1 year ago.
It's either the 1.6l or the 2.0l, if that helps.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Would it be in the owners manual
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Its a 5 speed does that help
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
1.6
Expert:  Mike S. replied 1 year ago.
Ok, one second but first what did you mean by " tried the ignition relay fuse"? Does that mean you replaced the fuse or tested it/checked it?
Also, how do you know the ignition switch is ok?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Well I took the ignition off and tried it with screw driver and everything lit up as before and thr relay fuse i switched out with the same fuse that was under there and it still did the same thing
Expert:  Mike S. replied 1 year ago.
One more thing, 5 speed what? Automatic or manual?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Manual
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
The starter is spinning when using screw driver to jump but its like its not catching
Expert:  Mike S. replied 1 year ago.
There are 2 fuses. One is fuse #26 in the fuse block on the left side of the dash and the other is fuse #1 in the fuse block under the hood by the left front of engine compartment. Check both.
By the way, which one were you referring to?
Expert:  Mike S. replied 1 year ago.
Are you jumping to the starter solenoid, (thin wire) or big cable on the starter.
Expert:  Mike S. replied 1 year ago.
If you are jumping to the big stud on the starter, that is normal for the starter to just spin. The solenoid, small wire is what throws the drive gear out.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Ok tried the one under hood , its good. There are no numbers under dash telling me # ***** Yes i have been only hitting the two big screws on starter
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Under dash there is a big blue one that is ignition switch i think
Expert:  Mike S. replied 1 year ago.
I don't know what you are referring to under the dash? A big blue what?
Expert:  Mike S. replied 1 year ago.
Now would be the time to look in the owners manual to see which is that fuse under the dash.
Expert:  Mike S. replied 1 year ago.
Do you still need help?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
No
Expert:  Mike S. replied 1 year ago.
Was it the fuse?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Nope
Expert:  Mike S. replied 1 year ago.
I suppose you don't want to tell me why you no longer need help?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I have tried everything thing just hot am aggervated. Need to take a break
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Ok i have located both fuses and they are good
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Yes i need your help
Expert:  Mike S. replied 1 year ago.
Then it's most likely a faulty clutch interlock relay. It's located on the right side of the engine compartment.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Is this a switch or big fuse ?
Expert:  Mike S. replied 1 year ago.
neither, it's a relay. Let me see if I can find a picture of what it looks like.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
That would be great
Expert:  Mike S. replied 1 year ago.
Did you find the relay box with all of the relays in it?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I thought u were sending me a picture to look at
Expert:  Mike S. replied 1 year ago.
here is a diagram, swap that relay with another.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Does it just pull out cos I can't get it to
Expert:  Mike S. replied 1 year ago.
Yes, the relay just pulls out.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I cant get it out . Is there anything else i should look at if this does not work? I have a man coming over to take out but it will be a hour before he makes it.
Expert:  Mike S. replied 1 year ago.
Not at this moment. I would try swapping that relay first. If that don't work, then you are going to have to get a voltmeter or 12 volt test light and begin doing some testing.
Expert:  Mike S. replied 1 year ago.
Did you get it fixed?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Have not been able to get relay out and help has not got here
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Got clutch relay off and switched with another one and still nothing
Expert:  Mike S. replied 1 year ago.
Ok, when then you are going to have to either do some testing with a voltmeter or 12 volt test light or possibly wait until help arrives. let me know what you want to do.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
There is 2 switch"s on top of the clutch pedal that work with each other to start ,one pushs and one releases ,one was bad !! had nissan mechanic come show me the problem took 5 mins to repair
Expert:  Mike S. replied 1 year ago.
I am sure he either checked the fuses first or knew from you they were already checked.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
No he didn't check fuses he says its common for those to go out
Expert:  Mike S. replied 1 year ago.
yeah
