So stick with me to the end, and I am sure we should be able to get this issue resolved for you! Can you check the oil level for me. It could be that it is over filled. Here is a video on how to check it. Make sure you check it after the car has not been running for 5 to 10 mins. Then check it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5uih27KiKMo

Ok.. Well as long as it's not flashing, that is good.
Are you in California?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
The light was steadyi'm in alberta
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Under 60 it would sputter
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
ran some what at 80 KM/hr
Expert:  Jay replied 1 year ago.
Oh, your in Canada.
Ok.. Well first thing we need to determine what type of direction is needed to help resolve this issue is to have the car scanned to see what code you have.
When the Service Engine Soon light comes on, that means the computer has detected a fault and generated a code pointing to the system that has the fault. I know here in the US we have Auto Zones that offer free scans. Do you know if you have any auto parts stores that offer the same thing?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
she is in an isolated area - a small town call Riondel. No garage
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
called Riondel
Expert:  Jay replied 1 year ago.
Auto Parts Stores may offer this service. Since she is in a isolated area, this makes it harder to determine. Especially if we can't get the code.
How long is she gone for? Will she be back later or tomorrow?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
She is gone until Sunday. The car might not make it back in it present condition
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
is there anything she can check?
Expert:  Jay replied 1 year ago.
That is what I was thinking as well after looking up where that place was.
We need to have the car scanned for codes and see what codes she has. The is the only real way to getting a idea if the car is safe to drive and if she can make it home.
She will need to work on calling Auto Parts stores, or local repair shops to see if any can read the codes. Once you get them, return back and let me know the codes and I will continue to help you. I will also be able to tell you if the car is safe to drive or not.
Let me know..
