Maxima: I've been told my 2004 Nissan Maxima needs its cam

Customer Question

I've been told my 2004 Nissan Maxima needs its cam sensors replaced because it sticks in high gear when it gets warm. Does this mean the transmission has to be pulled to replace the 2 cam sensors and, what is involved in replacing the cam sensors?

Hi there,The cam sensors are on the cylinder heads and the transmission does not need to come out to replace them.Do you have codes for these sensors? I ask because I have never seen cam sensors cause transmission issues such as this. Please let me know.
