Quest: , I have a 2007 Nissan Quest. My A/C button does not

Customer Question

Hi, I have a 2007 Nissan Quest. My A/C button does not want to light up. Checked the fuse and disconnected the battery. Any thoughts?

Hello my name is ***** ***** thank you for your question.
Most common cause for the light not to come on is due to low freon level. Before you do any diagnostics on the Ac system, you need to make sure the freon level is correct.

That is video showing how you want to make sure you know the freon level is correct.

Thanks Jay. I am going to refill the Ac myself. Is there a way to trick the compressor so that it turns on to accept the Freon?
Expert:  Jay replied 1 year ago.
Not on your car. The AC relay is built into the IPDM.
If you watch the video I show you the best way to set the freon level.

We checked the freon level last night and it is good. Not sure what to do next.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
It was a little low so we topped it up. For some reason, the defrost/foot button activated the compressor to turn on. So we filled it up. Still no light on the AC.

Defrost does activate the compressor. That is normal.
Does the ac come on? Just no AC light on the button?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
thanks Jay, no light and no AC.

Is this a Auto Air System? or Manual Air?
The defrost does turn the AC on though?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I believe it is manual air, not sure of the difference. The defrost turns on the compressor, but it doesn't seem to be cold, like it would with the AC working.
Expert:  Jay replied 1 year ago.
I was just looking to see if it turned it on. That is all.
If you had auto air, it would have the word auto somewhere on your controls.
