Pathfinder: . My 2000 pathfinder is jerking heavily once

Customer Question

Hi. My 2000 pathfinder is jerking heavily once the engine is warmed up. Changed fuel pump, spark plugs and wires, rotor, relocated knock sensor, but problem still not fixed. At all. Was thinking of trying the Mass Air Flow Sensor.next. Any thoughts?

Hi there, thanks for your question.
Jerking or bucking can be caused by a couple different fuel or spark cut issues.
What codes are you getting?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I'm not an expert/mechanic. I took it from a mechanic who seemed to be stumped. He mentioned was the knock and crankshaft sensor codes. Both were replaced(knock sensor relocated)

Was the distributor replaced or just the cap and rotor?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Just the cap and rotor.

Thanks, ***** ***** bucking is caused by either a distributor issue (which usually throws a cam sensor code) or a fuel cut issue from a bad injector or fuel pump.
We don't see the MAF generally cause bucking. It's usually poor idle and bogging under acceleration.
If you had a scan tool that reads live data we could rule out a MAF issue likely.
Let me know.
