we just bought a 2010 Nissan Sentra,we love the car even for being tall people, my only question is that when we first start it up in the morning it sounds like it would be noisey lifters like in a larger vehicle but not as loud.I guess what i want to know is if that is just the sound of a 4 cysilender motor? it is always a little noisey but I have never had or even rode in one before.Just want to know if every thing is normal and we will be safe.We are in our mid 60's and want to be ok. Sorry if this sounds stupid. Thank you, XXXXX XXXXX Jan Proctor

Hi there, and thanks for justanswer.
Yes the Nissan sentras do make a bit of lifter noise at start-up when the engine is cold. Then as oil pressure increases the noise subsides.
Make sure to use 5w-30 engine oil and a filter with a good anti-drainback valve if your interested in keeping this noise minimal. A purolator pureone is an excellent filter choice.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
