I just bought a Nissan Pathfinder 1997 SE 4x4, (A/T) 172,000 miles. The SUV shifts fine from 1st-2nd gear however from 2nd to 3rd gear, the rpms jump to 4000 plus and will not shift to 3rd gear unless I release the gas pedal slightly. It can drive at 55 mph,but only at 4000 rpms. Went to O'Reilly's to get trouble codes and got back P0120(TPS malfunction) which was replaced and calibrated and P0325(KNOCK SENSOR malfunction)...still haven't replaced. I did a routine tune up and checked the tranny fluid and is spot on in regards XXXXX XXXXX and level. The transmission does not slip and P,D,N,D2,D1 are working fine(no slipping). Also, the overdrive when turned off, does not allow any aceleration when i pass 2nd gear. Does this sound like a transmission issue or a sensory issue? Any positive feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Hi , just 1 Question ? can you start out in manual low then shift to 2nd & then get 3rd gear?........Thanks Joey
Yes, I can start out in manual low and then do the respective shifts you are asking about.
ok, if you can get 3rd gear by manual shift, you have a electrical issue. You will need it at a shop that only does Transmissions, because they will have a scanner tool that can read all transmission Functions from the computer & transmission systems.......Most shops will ck that issue for Free.....They like to build custmer relations Thanks Joey
