I is a 4X4 with 6cy. It has started stalling and won't restart, then if you wait 15-30 minutes it will start and run for a short time and stall again. I've replaced fuel filter. Could it be fuel plump, fuel pump sending unit, or what?
hi
are you there?
yes
Well hi back to you
tell me..
does it only do this when the engine is warm?
Yes
does the engine light stay on when the engine is running?
if so,can you give me the computer codes?
No. Everything seems just fine when it is running. I don't have a code reader.
ok
from the way you explain the problem
it sounds as if you may have a bad crank sensor
these will do this sometimes when they go bad
and,most times,not give a code for it
give me just a second..i will give you the location of the crank sensor

is there any way to test it?
when these do this and the problem is intermediate......testing it may not help any
but..i will give you some tests
Thanks. I will find and replace it and get back with you.
1. Disconnect crankshaft position sensor (OBD) harness connector. 2. Loosen the fixing bolt of the sensor. 3. Remove the sensor. 4. Visually check the sensor for chipping.
5. Check resistance as shown in the figure. Resistance: Approximately 166.5 - 203.5 (ohms) [at 20 °C (68 °F)] If NG, replace crankshaft position sensor (OBD).
the thing is,,,it will be cool enough to work again as you get to it to test,,and may still show good
so,a test may not help
So far I've replaced the Crank Position sensor. Abosolute nightmare to change. No help, so I changed the Fuel Pump and Fuel Pump Relay, No help. Now it doesn't start very often. I appears that there is no power to the fuel pump. With the key turned on, if you hear the pump, it starts. If you don't hear the pump, it does not start.
ok,,sense you say that the pump,,will come on sometimes and at times not
now i am thinking your problem may be a bad main relay
it is in the passenger compartment[ecm relay]
hello
Looking for it now, Don't think I will be able to get part tonight. Will rate got the job done even though I don't know for sure, I
I'm hoping to change this to Great Service tomorrow. At 103 degrees, it would be much better to drive than work on.
no doubt
thanks for using justanswer
After changing the parts that you suggested (over $300.00 in parts), before changing the ECM (about $700.00), I took it to a mechanic. It ended up being the sending unit. Even though there was a recall several years ago, Nissan would not honor the recall. The pins were corroded on the connector.
thanks for letting me know this..glad you got it fixed
