Hello and thank you for using JustAnswer.com
That is a cylinder number 6 misfire.
How many miles on the car?
118,000
where is cylinder 6?
The luck thing is it's right up front
Have you changed spark plugs yet?
yes. last night.
What brand spark plugs did you put in?
bosch
Hopefully not Bosch!!
That is your misfire!!
These engines don't like any brand spark plugs other than NGK's
ngk was in there when the misfire started
Yeah, but they were the original plugs!!
The plugs get changed every 10 years or 105k miles
so you're saying if i put ngk plugs in that will solve the problem?
That is the first thing you should do!
If you still get a cylinder number 6 misfure
misfire
Try swapping the coil from 6 to 2 and see if the misfire follows
if it does, then you have a bad coil
If you still have it on 6, then you may be looking at a injector
But most of the time when it comes to misfire codes I have seen
it's bosch plugs!!
Also,
when you removed the coils to replace the spark plugs, did you find any oil in the spark plug galleys?
don't recall seeing oil in the spark plug galleys but i did notice oil around the spark plug thread.
when you say find out if the misfire follows, would the new code read p0302?
correct
cool. i'll get on it in the morning. thx.
