HI there!
Normally a flashing check engine light is a misfire. This is typically one of the ignition coils failing. The best thing to do is have to code read. This is because you will then know which cylinder has the misfire and should have the coil replaced.
It can also be an issue with the spark plugs, but since 3 are in the back of the engine it is best to have the codes read, then replace all the spark plugs and just the one coil causing the misfire.
Most Autozones will read the codes at no charge for you.
This should get attention as soon as possible, the flashing light also indicates you could damage the catalytic converter which would raise the price of the repair.
Hope this helps!
