Jay :

Hello and thank you for using JustAnswer.com

Jay :

To change the shift indicator bulb is fairly tricky

Jay :

What you first need to do is remove the trim around the shifter.

Jay :

Then you need to pop off and slide the shift indicator housing up so you can access the bulb.

Jay :

Let me try to get you some images to help you.

Jay :

1 min

Customer:

images would be helpful - it is for my daughters car

Customer:

Once she manages to remove the cover, is there anything else to remove, or is the bulb right there?

Jay :

Once you remove that top trim from the first image

Jay :

The whole plastic shifter cover needs to be popped off and slid up the shift knob so you can access the bulb

Jay :

It twist locks into that cover

Jay :

that is in the second image where I have the arrow

Jay :

That piece once popped out, is tricky to pop back in so take your time with it

Jay :

It's very tight also.

Jay :

at least for my paws

Customer:

so just to be on the save side, once removed she can change the the bulb, right? And what kind of bulb does she need?

Jay :

There is two pieces that need to be removed

Jay :

I don't know the bulb number. You would need to pop it out and take it to a auto parts store to have them match it up and give you a new one

Customer:

all right sounds good, we will give it a try. Can I contact you again if I have problems or would that be a new question?

Jay :

nope, you can always return to this question if you have any more questions on this topic

Customer:

thanks for your help, I will have to forward this to her, because she is away at college. Hopefully she will manage to get the the two pieces off.

Customer:

...and how do I contact you again in case I have more questions (hopefully that is not needed, but just in case)

Jay :

just log back into JustAnswer and come back to this question

Customer:

alright, will do - thanks again

Customer:

one more thing, even after I push accept, I still can ask you about this issue, right?

Jay :

yes you can

Customer:
