I just purchased a 2011 Nissan Armada SL with a factory tow package( rated at 9,000 lb). Well with only thirty miles on the SUV I towed my travel trailer ( 5050lb..27 ft) for about 2 miles below 50mph. To see how it would tow, it did great! However; last night I read the owners manual that states " Do not tow a trailer for the first 500 miles"..Did I just cause unknown damage the engine or transmission to my brand new SUV?

hi, it is possible that you did because the engine and trans need u to brake in first before you tow , but since you did not tow a very heavy load then you may be ok, just take the truck back to the dealer at 1000 mile and have them do a 1000 miles inspection to make sure all is good . if you have more question please ask .
I did contact the service rep at a Nissan dealer and he said there should no problem. Now with your response I am concered. How could I tell if I did damage or what damage I did?
the only damage you could have did would be to the trans but you would have hear some kind of noise , am not saying you did just saying it is possible , but if your not hearing any noise then just take it in at 1000 and have them check it .
