2005 nissan titan oil pressure gauge is maxed out

Resolved Question:

I have a 2005 nissan titan se 4x4 170k miles,
oil pressure gauge is maxed out as soon as you turn the key it maxes out and stays,
I thought it was a sensor however there is a oil leak around the oil filter, oil and filter is fresh, already replaced the filter , cleaned the block, no signs of cracks or pitting. Leak appeares to be from high, already changed the pcv valves with no change.
Is there a oil regulator or something that may be stuck?
problem has presisted thru 2 oil changes, filter and oil are correct

Greetings Sir or Madam and welcome to JA! I will do my very best to assist you with your problem.
Has the oil pressure been tested to see if it is actually high?
Customer: replied 5 years ago.
no, it has not , the reason being is the oil leak that has developed around the filter the truck also makes a swoosh sound when turned off in the engin compartment like there is a release in pressure. the filter and gasket are new and the block is clean and has a good seal against the filter.

Ok, well,I would check the pressure to be sure it is a problem.
The oil coolers tend to leak on these, even without high oil pressure. There is a O ring behind the cooler.

There is a regulator valve in the oil pump,.It can give you high oil pressure, but again, the oil pressure has to be checked to determine if it is the cause.
