Can I replace the catalytic converter on a Nissan Frontier (2001 XE 4cy) myself? What should I look for when purchasingf a new cat.?

Hi there! this is something you can do yourself. Honestly, the most important thing I think you should look for is a direct fit replacement. This converter has flanges at both ends, so if you can get a direct fit it will bolt right in.
Also, try to find one with a good warranty. Most will have at least a one year warranty, some may have more. If it is a direct fit, then it is made for the truck and you will likely not have problems with it.
Hope this helps!
