the ac on my 2001 xterra is not cooling. the rpm's do not drop when the ac button is pressed. the fuse is good
Optional Information: Year: 2001Make: Nissan Already Tried: changing the fuse
Does the compressor engauge when the a/c is on.Air does blow through the vents correct?
compressor does not seem to engauge because the rpm's do not go down when the ac button is pressed. it did this a few days ago but came back when the car started moving
OK do you know if the freon level is ok?Are there any signs of leaks?
It's been working great up to this point. I have not checked the freon. The compressor should kick in even if freon is low... right
No if the freon level is low it will not kick in.I would have the freon level checkd with a professional machine, they can also tell if there is a problem with t a blockage or electrcial issue with the a/c system. So this is the next step.
