adjust the timing with a timing light on #1 plug wire.

set it to 15 deg advanced.

Reply to Shimell's Post: What I am trying to do is to change the water pump on this vehicle. I have not done so yet, but when I do, this procedure will upset the timing on the vehicle. Can you tell me how to set the timing?
Expert:  Shimell replied 8 years ago.

the post i made above tels you how to adjust timing.

do you mean you want to know how to set up the timing belt?

if so, here are some pictures to help you with that.

if you use a new nissan belt, the allignment marks that are on the pully should match up with the lines on the belt. the lines on the belt are not shown in this picture.graphicgraphicgraphic
